Will Wade Leave?

Just a few weeks ago, hell, even a few days ago, everyone was certain that Dwayne Wade would stay in Miami. It’s been his home for the past 13 seasons, and he has always shared a bond with Pat Riley. However new rumors have circulated the star, and now, many are second guessing themselves.

Dwayne Wade is by all means, a fading superstar. He has been plagued with injuries throughout his career. Last season was the first time in 4 years that he played 70 or more games in a season.

However, it isn’t all bad for Wade. Despite his injuries, he has never missed more than 33 games in a season, and has yet to see a giant decrease in production. Last year, at the age of 34, he averaged 19 ppg, 4.6 apg, and 4 rpg, proving that he still has it.

There is still plenty reason for teams to pursue Wade, and it isn’t all that crazy to imagine him leaving Miami. Some sources have said that he is strongly considering the Knicks, and why not?

Wade has given the city of Miami more than enough. It isn’t selfish of him, in my mind, to go somewhere else, just to get one more ring.

I think at this point he’s got it narrowed down to Miami, Cleveland, and New York. Personally, I’d like to see him go to New York.

Imagine the line-up:

Pg: Derrick Rose

Sg: Dwayne Wade

SF: Carmelo Anthony

Pf: Kristaps Porzingis

C: Joakim Noah

Yes I know, save for Porzingis, it’s a bunch of fading superstars. “The Championship team of 2011” as some have joked; but there is no question that it would make them contenders for at least 3 consecutive years.

Realistically, he’ll probably stay in Miami. The Knicks can’t give him anything close to a max deal, after signing Noah for $72 million; but one can dream right?

  1. If I’m Wade I would seriously consider leaving. The Lakers paid Kobe a ton of money at the end of his career when he could barely play. Wade’s still got it. After all the pay cuts hes taken. A 10 million a year deal is insulting for a player like Wade.
